HOW TO CARE FOR SCÁDA JEWELLERY
Always store your jewellery pieces individually, preferably in the Scáda felt bag provided with every purchase to prevent from rubbing together, scratching or tangling.
Please try and avoid extreme humidity or heat as this may cause tarnishing. Your 18K gold plated and sterling silver jewellery should be kept in a cool, dry place. This will prevent your jewellery from tarnishing and oxidation. With time and wear your jewellery will start to wear but doing the following will get you long-term wear:
Avoid cleaning products, water, creams, perfumes, hairspray, make-up, nail polish remover, body oils, suntan lotion and deodorant.
A good rule of thumb to follow with jewellery is that it should be the last thing you put on when getting dressed and the first thing you take off when undressing.
SCÁDA JEWELLERY MATERIALS
Currently, Scáda Australia provides two types of materials.
Our sterling silver pieces are made from 925 silver and are coated with a protective layer called E-Coating for longer wear.
Our gold pieces are firstly crafted in 925 sterling silver than a layer of 18 karat gold is plated onto the sterling silver to form the finished look.
What is 925 sterling silver?
Because pure silver is much too soft to be used in jewellery, it is often combined with other metals to create a more durable metal. When 92.5% of pure silver is mixed with 7.5% of other metals (often copper, nickel or zinc) the result is called sterling silver. To identify it as such, the number 925 is often stamped upon the silver, in a hidden part of the jewellery. This number is known as the hallmark and denotes the percentage of silver purity in the alloy. In other words, 925 is the same as sterling silver.
All our Scáda Australia pieces are guaranteed for 6 months from the original purchase date (with proof of receipt). If you have a problem, please contact us at email@example.com. Please give your order number and send detailed photos with a brief description of the issue. You will then need to return the jewellery, along with the original packaging. We can only replace items that are in stock and will do our best to keep you our customer happy. This does not cover every day wear and tear.
